Imagine.

“Because we don't know when we will die, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well. Yet everything happens only a certain number of times, and a very small number really.
How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, some afternoon that is so deeply part of your being that you can't even conceive of your life without it?
Perhaps four or five times more, perhaps not even that.
How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps 20.
And yet it all seems limitless.”

This is a passage from The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles, and the inspiration for our subject’s SOTM.
He wrote: “When I first heard these words in the 1990 film of The Sheltering Sky, I stopped in my tracks. It's natural to go through life without confronting your mortality, but every now and again a reminder can do wonders for your outlook. Bowles tackles the familiar theme of Carpe Diem with such simple eloquence that his words have stuck to me like glue ever since. It makes me cherish every day of my son's childhood even more.”

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Never forget that Time is Finite, it's not infinite.
Live life, Cherish now, Give like your full of it,
Forgive because there will be lighter weight to be carried around,
Dream because you should never stop
& Love , like you never loved before.

X , mandy.
