So today I caught this flick with the boys, Zam & Ian Ortega, The Ugly Truth.. It's undoubtly one of the witty-est smart yet super funny flick. And yes, even though there are certain amount of truth in whatever Mike whose the hot stuffs Gerard Butler was trying to prove that there is no Love and Man are only capable of Sex. And of course, he was hurt many times with different kind of women as he describle them as psycho , co dependent , control freaks, all sorta women. Then decided after 20 years odd of bad relationship that Love does not exist and all man want is just sex.
Yes those two silly boys were high five-ing and fist punching one another across me everytime Mike made a superficial statements and rules about Man , Woman , Love , Sex , Women and their check lists. But however at the end of course he eventually falls in love with the total unexpected woman.
While of course Katherine Heigl was some lady too obesessed with her work , uptight , middle age still searching for her fairy tale that has to fit all of her 10 check lists. And gets proven that sometimes , your knight in shining armour doesnt always fits your check lists, he just happens to have the ability to sweep you off your feet unknowingly.
I love the movie even if it was explict and vulgar to certain extend, but it was true in certain ways , actually most ways. But its just that, it is The Ugly Truth on both the Man side , that you guys are actually capable to love instead of lust and on the Woman side, that that shining knight in armour always isnt always what you expect. And! Both Man & Woman, have check lists okay! And I think so long it's remotely close to reality, there is nothing wrong with it.
